  • Magnet: i thought we had a spot where we could talk about topics unrelated to fly fishing. i want to talk about unemployment and how it is being abused. there is too much fraud in the system. many of us scrounge to find time to fish while the freeloaders are leisurely doing what they want on our dime.

  • AaronJasper: Steve... I wish that we had shots of rain every day. We need it really bad. I know that on some streams the trout are having a real tough time.

Mantis and Frank,
Your point is well taken. Internet forums do seem to make experts out of people with little more to offer than the ability to put a few coherent  sentences together. We have seen this evolution of characters before on this and other web sites. Such is the world of instant comunication that we live in today. So your questions are valid. Anyone can post an opinion on a topic right along with Davy or Aaron. So it is sometimes difficult to identify true "time on the water" knowlege and experience from internet jargon that anyone can proliferate.

Exaclty Magnet, I hope everyone who really wants to be in it and likes helping others gets in. I also hope they have the knowledge to help us newbies learn the tricks of the trade.

Someone sent me an email that is a web developer, but they didn't include their email for me to email them back. They said they read this post, if the mystery web developer reads this, please just shoot me an email with your email in it justin.massimo@gmail.com

Thanks!

Bump...let's go folks...1000 members and 16 votes???? ???

But how many active?  Or even very active? 50-60?  You have some good folks on there that are willing to donate some time to a good cause.  You should crank it up.  Although, I am not a "top fiver" myself, I have faith that the current 5 would do a great job.   This is a good time when ice on my fly rod keep me off the stream more and on the computer.  I assume many other are like that too.

That's it guys the 2010 TPO Steering Committee is:

sperrywater
wwelz
walshmiko
Magnet
Brookie
Davyfly

I had to go with six because of the tie, but we could use more help anyway.

I thought we would meet once a month online and discuss our ideas to help further our cause.

If any of you decide you aren't up to the commitment, please just let me know and we will move in the next highest vote getter.

I thought we would shoot for the end of this month for our first meeting. Please send me any items you want to discuss and I will send out an agenda before our first meeting.

I will set up special section for us to discuss meeting times and such.

Thanks!

Justin
