Thanks for the logo compliment. I'm glad to see someone likes it. I have posted a whole bunch in a media gallery folder, I think i'm going to stick with yellow and black though.

Aargh!  That was bad.
Aaron,
I've been tying those flies.  With my limited supplies I've been doing a lot of simple flies like that to stretch out the material.

Juice & Aaron,

Thanks for making the time for the video, very simple and effective fly.  Another example of making TPO the best site on the internet for FF.

One question,,,,, what happened to the DK vise?  It looks like a survivor from a forest fire !!!

Regards,
FK

Thanks A and J. I tried a few. For me, with my tying skills, it  will be known as the "3 minute caddis larva". Thats on a big hook. On a small hook, I will have to call it the "minute 5 minute larva."

FK,

I would say Aaron ties 2 dozen flies per day, now multiply that times 365 for the year and Aaron's had that vise for at least 3 years now. 26280 flies. Now also take into account that someone stole ALL of his flies at some point in TN, so he had to retie them all, plus he stopped using unweighted flies for himself, so he had to retie all of them in weighted variations.

I wouldn't be surprised if we were around 35000 flies just for the last three years. Now just think, that means Aaron has been dribbling glue on it, opening and closing it, packing it and unpacking it, dropping it on the floor and generally beating the piss out of it.

On top of all of this the video is in HD. It's like when you watch Sports or News in HD and you can see how bad the goalie from Man U's teeth are or how bad your local weather girl's skin actually is. No blemish left unseen.

Poor vise.

It's also very self conscience so don't talk about it's looks too much. It just got over it's last bout with anorexia.

I just tied some too (eight in about 40 minutes) so it is also a 5 minute tie for me.  I think it is useful to use a little 0.010in weighting wire just to center the bead on the shank, so I did that too.  The SLF colors are the best, but the dubbing itself requires a fair amount of pressure.

Thanks for the recipe Aaron.

I tied about 6 of these up. took me a little longer than 5 minutes tho.  I then started to experiment with it.  Instead of using a wire rib, I first wrapped it in one layer of condom latex then used dark green thread to rib it.  Here's a pic of the two I tied this way.
I made the body a little too fat on the top fly so i cut back on the dubbing on the bottom one and it came out a little better.  I am going to try them out on the Flatbrook tomorrow.
